How Venture Up enabled Deliveroo to rapidly scale with Europe wide talent
Deliveroo owns and operates an online food delivery platform, allowing users to order food from local restaurants. Over the past 12 months there has been a significant surge in demand for their services both inside and outside the UK.

The challenge
Deliveroo wanted to build a remote-first team to help shore up both their UK and international services across the EU. They were constrained by time as they needed to roll out this additional support quickly, and had limited resources to facilitate the different legal, compliance, administrative and payroll functions across the different European countries.
They wanted to make sure they accessed some of the most exceptional talent available who were a good cultural fit and experienced in four technical areas:

The solution:
We quickly worked with Deliveroo to identify not only their technical requirements, but also the cultural fit they looked for in potential employees. We then used our networks and knowledge of the European wide market to:
- Deliver an extensive longlist and shortlist from across the UK and Europe, all qualified not only for technical ability but also for cultural fit. Over 78% of submitted CVs progressed to interview.
- Deliver candidates across Europe, including the UK, Ireland, France, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine
- Use our local knowledge to set up and run contractors in places such as Moldova, Estonia, Hungary, Germany and the UK
- Over 50 offers accepted so far, project ongoing
- Provide constant advice and insights to help them to continue to evolve their interview process, continue to update their financial compensation and packages to stay ahead of competitors, and legal insights to ensure their compliance with local laws and jurisdictions
